Cast Iron Cutaway Steam Engine
This antique cast iron steam engine demonstrator model from the early 20th century. There are no manufacturer identifiers but most liekly was made by Central Scientific Co.
It was designed as a classroom teaching aid to demonstrate the mechanical operation of locomotive pisten valves and steam power. By turning the large flywheel manually it demonstrates how the rods, pistons and valves move back and forth to open and close.
Measures 14 - 1/2" long x 7 - 1/2" tall x 5" base
All parts are in tack and working.
